Our National Competing Progression includes teams eligible to compete for a spot at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships (Nationals): juvenile, intermediate, and novice.
At the juvenile through novice levels, our goal is for athletes to learn the elite aspects of synchronized skating to allow them to be nationally competitive and prepare them for international competition at the next level. To achieve this, we expect dedication and hard work appropriate for the level of the team. In addition to team practices, athletes are expected to continue instruction with their private coaches and practice on their own in order to progress through moves, dance, and free skate tests. With experience in our progression through the novice level, athletes are prepared for future placement on Team USA teams.
Placement on teams is determined by the age, experience, and test or skill level of each athlete. Test requirements outlined in U.S. Figure Skating rules are minimum requirements, and typically, higher test requirements are preferred. Young skaters without preferred tests can gain experience in our Developmental Program.
