Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams are organized and compete under U.S. Figure Skating rules which specify athletes' ages and minimum test (skill) level for each level of team or competition. At Hayden Synchronized Skating, we are proud to field eight teams from beginning levels (synchro skills) to elite teams competing at the highest levels of synchronized skating (junior and senior). Our National Competing teams are: Haydenettes (senior), Hayden Select (senior elite 12), Lexettes (junior), Ice Mates (novice), Star Mates (intermediate), and Mini Mates (juvenile). Our Developmental teams are: Shooting Stars Pre-Juvenile (pre-juvenile), Shooting Stars Preliminary (preliminary), and Shooting Stars Academy (synchro skills).. Teams
Haydenettes
Hayden Synchronized Skating’s senior-level athletes, the Haydenettes, compete at the highest level of figure skating both nationally and internationally. The 31 time U.S. National Champions, 5-time World Bronze Medalists and the current 2024 World Silver Medalists are currently the most decorated U.S. team, and they work passionately to maintain their status as one of the top-ranked synchro teams in the world. The Haydenettes have represented the United States at every World Championship since its beginning in 2000, and their most recent U.S. Championship (in 2024) was their fifteenth consecutive one.
Hayden Select
Hayden Synchro’s newest team, Hayden Select, will once again represent HSST in the new ISU Senior Elite 12 division. In 2022 they won the Gold Medal in the Elite 12 division at the 2022 French Cup in Rouen, France, the first ISU sponsored event for this new division. This season, they look forward to competing against more teams, both domestically and internationally. Saga Krantz, HSST’s Director of Synchronized Skating, is excited about the opportunity to expand the discipline of synchronized skating. “We have chosen a team of strong senior level skaters to perform in the new Elite 12 division. They are a dedicated group of talented athletes. I call them our trailblazers who are committed to help push the sport forward,” said Krantz
Lexettes
Hayden Synchronized Skating’s junior level athletes, the Lexettes, compete at the second-highest level of figure skating both nationally and internationally. The Lexettes are the 2020 and 2022 United States National Pewter Medalists. In 2022 The team represented the United states at the Hevelius Cup in Gdansk, Poland earning a 4th place finish. In 2020, the team competed at the Zagreb Snowflake Trophy earning a silver medal and the 2020 Spring Cup in Milan, Italy earning the bronze medal. They have represented the United States in world competition for six consecutive years (in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2018 at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championship and in 2014 and 2016 at the ISU Synchronized Skating World Junior Challenge Cup). In recent seasons, they have competed in Poland; Italy; Mississauga, Canada; Salzburg, Austria; Zagreb, Croatia; Neuchâtel, Switzerland; and Helsinki, Finland.
Ice Mates
Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams' Ice Mates Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams' Ice Mates are the 2023 US National Silver Medalists and the 2022 US National Pewter Medalists in the Novice Division and the 2019 and 2020 U.S. National Champions in the Intermediate division. They are the 2022 US National Pewter Medalists in the Novice Division and the 2019 and 2020 U.S. National Champions in the intermediate division. In addition, they are the 2018 U.S. National Novice Silver Medalists. The Ice Mates have been skating as a team since 1988, earning 20 U.S. National Championships and more than 50 gold medals in U.S. local, sectional, and international competitions. Before U.S. Figure Skating changed the team age requirements, they were one of the few novice teams to compete in Europe
Star Mates
Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams', the Star Mates, began in 2011. In their first season, they captured the Intermediate National title. They have competed in both the Intermediate and Novice divisions, earning national medals at both in recent years. They are the current 2022 US National Bronze medalists in the Intermediate division and the 2020 US National Bronze medalists in the Novice division
Mini Mates
The Mini Mates compete both regionally and nationally at the Juvenile level. At the US Nationals in 2020 and 2019 they earned the Bronze and Silver medals respectively and they were the 2015 and 2018 U.S. National Juvenile Champions
Shooting Stars Pre-Juvenile
The Shooting Stars Pre-Juvenile team will compete regionally and work to develop their skills with the dual goals of National qualification and moving to higher skating levels. The team practices twice a week and attends ballet once a week.
The 20 skaters on this tear's Shooting Star Pre Juvenile team range in age from 8 to 13. They attend 3rd through 8th grade in towns across Eastern Massachusetts.
Shooting Stars Preliminary
Hayden Synchronized Skating's Shooting Stars Preliminary team competes regionally while preparing skaters for a move to the Shooting Stars Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile teams. This year’s Preliminary team comprises 18 skaters in the age group of 8 to 12-years-old and live in the greater Boston area.
