Hayden Select Skills Clinic

General info about the 2025 Hayden Select Skills Clinic

Hayden Select Skills Clinic is designed for skaters who are currently training on a synchro team at  Pre-Juvenile or above. In-person sessions will be held at The Edge Sports Centre in Bedford, MA from July 11-13, 2025. Skaters will be organized by age and experience into smaller groups with no more than 30 skaters on ice at a time. During the 12+ hours of on-ice time skaters can expect to be working on power and speed, multi directional skating and balance as well as fun classes like Musical Interpretation and Movement and Choreography sessions. While the main focus is on improving individual skills we will also be working on  Synchro Elements.

The clinic will be led by Lee Chandler and Taylor Stender, the coaches of Hayden Select.  More exciting guest instructors will be introduced closer to the clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is there a skills requirement to be eligible to attend this year?

A: Yes, Skaters must be training with a Pre-Juvenile or higher level team (either for the 2024-2025 season or the upcoming 2025-2026 season) AND have passed Bronze Skating Skills tests (formerly Juvenile level Moves-In-The-Field) or higher by 7/11/2025

Q: Do I need to send copies of my skater’s test levels?

A: Yes. Please send your skater’s test records to show that the highest level of tests passed for Skating Skills. We will be using this information to organize skaters into leveled groups. If your skater has plans to test between now and July, you may email us any testing updates at skatewithus@haydensynchro.com.

Q: What will the on ice program look like?

A: Our on-ice sessions include Individual skating technique sessions, Synchro session as well as Musical Interpretation and Movement sessions. While the main focus is on improving individual skills we will have a “Synchro Element” on ice session as well.

Q: I understand that skaters will be grouped by ability. What are you anticipating the skill range being in each group?

A: We plan to group skaters together as close as possible to their test level to keep things safe and fun for everyone. The majority of our skaters attending are currently competing at the Juvenile, Intermediate and Novice level. The final groups will be decided after registration closes.
