Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams', the Star Mates, began in 2011.  In their first season, they captured the Intermediate National title. They have competed in both the Intermediate and Novice divisions, earning national medals at both in recent years. In 2023 they placed 6th in the Intermediate division a the National Championships. In 2019 they earned a National Bronze medal in the Intermediate division and the 2020 US National Bronze medalists in the Novice division.

Star Mates athletes range in age from 11 to 16 and travel from a variety of different communities in Massachusetts and New England. The Star Mates focus on the entire skater in addition to developing skating skills through utilizing mental skills training, off ice strengthening, team building and goal setting. The team recognizes that building a strong team starts with developing a well balanced individual. Each season, it is the team's mission to be competitively strong in their division, at Sectionals and Nationals while perfecting the skills necessary to move up to higher divisions. The Star Mates give back to the community through volunteer work and have participated in the Kindness Rocks Project and charity events benefiting Children’s Hospital Boston, The Jimmy Fund and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. This year the Star Mates are actively supporting Hope and Comfort, a nonprofit organization that provides essential hygiene products to youth and families in need.
